Vacancy for a PHP/JavaScript Web Developer (Full-time)

Intermesh is currently looking for a web developer. Someone to help us build web applications. We use the latest technology to create applications of outstanding quality. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and translate the customer’s wishes into a web application. You will also have a lot of direct contact with customers.
It is important that you feel comfortable in a small company with an informal atmosphere and friendly colleagues and that you enjoy keeping tabs on the latest technological developments in the internet field.

Experience and knowledge

A higher professional or university education
Experience in the development of web applications, using PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
Knowledge of the XHTML/CSS standards
Good command of the English language
Good communication skills
Preference will be given to candidates with a command of the German language
Knowledge of AJAX preferred
Experience with Linux preferred

Student traineeships

Intermesh has developed its own groupware product entitled Group-Office. Group-Office is a communication platform that enables various users to share projects, calendars, files and e-mail online with co-workers and clients.  Key features include a customer relations manager, shared calendar, e-mail module, shared files and project management. It is a modular system, which means that it’s easy to add new applications to the system.

The application was written in PHP and uses MySQL as database. We are currently focusing on applying AJAX techniques,  and this will be the main objective the traineeship assignment. Our aim is to improve the user interface through the application of AJAX techniques. AJAX is ideal for commands like drag and drop, minimising the data transfer, and so on. We also receive regular orders to create modules for Group-Office,   which could also be done as a traineeship assignment.

Assignment example:
An international packaging firm has asked us to develop an application that enables all customers to place their orders directly and allows the firm itself to manage the entire process from order to delivery. The first step is the ordering of various parts. Next, these need to be packaged. The packages must then be loaded onto containers and  shipped to their destination. The final step is the printing of invoices.
